In Rostock, an apparently mentally ill man who stabbed two passers-by on Sunday.
According to Attorney General Peter gap of 51-year-old man attacked directly in front of his house in the hamlet of Big Small a man with a 10 to 15 cm long knife and stabbed him. Then he went back to his apartment.
As a passer to help the victims lying in the snow was, he had returned and had "stabbed the woman like a man possessed," said Lückemann. Both victims had screamed for help.
Pedestrians had not intervened, however, but called the police. Both victims died. They were about 60 years old and not yet identified.
When officers arrived at the scene, the offender will be on the balcony of his apartment and rushed to the policemen who stabbed one of the helpers in the upper body. Then a second officer had given warning shots, the offender violated a shot in the leg and arrested.
The motive had been unclear, said Lückemann. The offender had been placed under police guard in hospital. On Monday, the prosecutor was seeking an arrest warrant against the man.
